USTR Seeking Public Comments on NAFTA Renegotiation

On May 18, 2017, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) notified Congress of the Administration’s intention to begin negotiations with Canada and Mexico regarding modernization of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). As it develops U.S. negotiating objectives and procedures, USTR is seeking public input. All agricultural stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to make their views known, either via written comments or in oral testimony at a public hearing to be held on June 27, 2017. 

Those wishing to testify at the hearing must provide written notification and a summary of their testimony by June 12, 2017. Written comments also are due by June 12, 2017.
