Private Exporters Report Sales Activity for Algeria, China, Mexico, and Unknown Destinations
WASHINGTON, Dec. 12, 2017—Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture the following activity:
- Export sales of 120,000 metric tons of hard red winter wheat for delivery to Algeria during the 2017/2018 marketing year; and
- Changes in destinations of 492,000 metric tons of soybeans from unknown destinations to China for delivery during the 2017/2018 marketing year; and
- Export sales of 152,000 metric tons of corn for delivery to Mexico during the 2017/2018 marketing year; and
- Export sales of 168,300 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to unknown destinations during the 2017/2018 marketing year.
The marketing year for wheat began June 1; corn and soybeans began Sept. 1.
USDA issues both daily and weekly export sales reports to the public. Exporters are required to report to USDA any export sales activity of 100,000 tons or more of one commodity, made in one day or quantities totaling 200,000 tons or more in any reporting period, except 20,000 tons for soybean oil, made in one day to one destination or quantities totaling 40,000 tons or more in any reporting period, by 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on the next business day following the sale. Export sales of less than these quantities must be reported to USDA on a weekly basis.
