Held annually in Tokyo, the Supermarket Trade Show is Japan’s leading international trade show targeting supermarket buyers and food retailers. In 2021, despite COVID-19 travel restrictions and restrictions on large in-person gatherings, Supermarket Trade Show attracted 26,385 visitors and the USA Pavilion consisted of 6 exhibitors. By comparison, in 2020, nearly 80,000 visitors and 2,300 exhibitors attended the Supermarket Trade Show.  The USA Pavilion at this USDA-endorsed show welcomed 16 exhibitors.  The most popular U.S. products at the show were processed pork, case ready beef, delicatessen, hot sauce, citrus, IPA beer, teriyaki chicken, corndogs, single-serve cakes, chowder, Pinot Noir, curry sauce, baking ingredients, and dried cherry.  The 16 U.S. exhibitors included 6 small-to-medium size and 3 new-to-market companies.
