FAS is seeking stakeholder input on a pilot project to include non-traditional commodities in the U.S. government’s international food assistance programs.

USDA hosted an stakeholder event June 27 to begin sharing ideas for how to make the 2026 observance of the International Year of the Woman Farmer a momentous and transformational one.

USDA Deputy Secretary Torres Small visited a USDA-supported school feeding program and garden at the Mungazine Primary School in Mozambique.

USDA, through its administration of the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition (McGovern-Dole) Program, is the largest global donor to school feeding efforts, providing U.S. agricultural commodities, funding, and technical assistance to reduce hunger, support nutrition, and improve literacy and primary education, especially for girls, around the world.

At the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), Secretary Vilsack and other USDA officials are highlighting the U.S. commitment to investing in innovative climate solutions, quantifying and demonstrating results, and sharing resources and solutions with the world.
