Colombian coffee production is forecast to recover at 14.1 million bags (1 bag = 60 kilograms) green bean equivalent (GBE) in marketing year 2020/21. Revised production estimates for MY 2019/20 is down from 14.3 to 13.8 million bags GBE mainly due to the measures taken to avoid the spread of Covid-19 that has disrupted the supply chain, also affecting export levels. Paralleling production recovery, exports are forecast to increase to 13.5 million bags GBE in MY 2020/21. Imports are forecast to increase by 21.2 percent to 1.1 million bags GBE in MY 2020/21, to satisfy the recovery of domestic consumption and exports.
