India: India's FSSAI Publishes 2023 Draft Amendments to the Foods for Infant Nutrition Regulations

On April 5, 2023, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued Notification No. F. No. Std/SP-05/T(IFR-02). The notification was published in the Gazette of India (official gazette) on March 29, 2023, covering the draft amendments to the Food Safety and Standards (Foods for Infant Nutrition) Regulations (2020). Amendments include limit specifications for selenium, iron, biotin, and manganese in infant nutrition foods. World Trade Organization (WTO) members are invited to comment on the proposed draft amendment; the timeline to provide comments is June 24, 2023.
