China: China Releases Standard for Maximum Residue Limits in Foods

On June 21, 2018, the Chinese National Health Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly released the National Food Safety Standard - Maximum Residue Limits (MRL) for Pesticides in Foods (GB 2763.1-2018). It sets 302 MRL’s for 43 pesticides (including Paraquat). The standard is an addendum of the current MRL Standard (GB 2763-2016) that was implemented on December 21, 2019. This report provides an unofficial translation of the standard.
