Joint Statement from U.S. and Mexican Agriculture Secretaries
Mexican Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Victor Villalobos and United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack issued a joint statement at the conclusion of their bilateral meeting in Ames, Iowa, today.
In the leadup to the United Nations Food Systems Summit, U.S. government officials took part in the Pre-Summit Ministerial meeting in Rome July 26-28, building coalitions and seeking solutions to end hunger and poverty and build more sustainable, equitable and resilient food systems.
Deputy Secretary Dr. Jewel Bronaugh will lead the U.S. delegation to the UN Food Systems Pre-Summit in Rome July 26-28, working to build coalitions and consensus around priorities including food security and nutrition, climate change, and equity and inclusion.
