U.S. Hot Sauces Bring Heat to Ag Trade
In honor of National Hot Sauce Day, USDA-FAS is celebrating a category of U.S. food exports that come in small packages but pack a lot of flavors and often heat – condiments and sauces. In 2021, the export of U.S.-made condiments and sauces was valued at $2 billion.

USDA Funds Six International Research Projects on Climate-Smart Agriculture
FAS is awarding $300,000 to six U.S. universities – including three minority-serving institutions – for research and educational partnerships focused on climate-smart agriculture in tropical countries.
Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, and the United States issued a joint statement following the conclusion of the 2022 APEC Food Security Ministers Meeting hosted by Thailand.

USDA Accepting Applications for East Africa Trade Mission
USDA is accepting applications from U.S. exporters for a trade mission to Nairobi, Kenya, and Zanzibar, Tanzania, Oct. 31-Nov. 4.
Throughout 2021, FAS was proud to support USDA's efforts to create more and better markets for U.S. agriculture, to address the climate crisis, and to promote nutrition and food security.

The government of India has agreed to allow imports of U.S. pork and pork products into India, removing a longstanding barrier to U.S. agricultural trade.

Private exporters reported the following sales for MY 2021/2022: 132,000 MT of soybeans for delivery to China and 33,000 MT of soybean oil for delivery to India.
