Export Sales to China, Mexico, and Philippines

Private exporters reported to USDA the following sales activity, all for delivery during the 2023/2024 marketing year: 440,000 MT of soft red winter wheat to China; 267,044 MT of corn to Mexico; 183,000 MT of soybean cake and meal to the Philippines.
Leaders from three state agriculture departments and 29 U.S. agribusinesses and organizations will accompany U.S. Department of Agriculture Under Secretary Alexis M. Taylor on a trade mission to Southeast Asia October 30 – November 3 to expand export opportunities for U.S. food and farm products to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the world’s fourth-largest market.

Export Sales to the Philippines

Private exporters reported sales of 225,000 MT of soybean cake and meal for delivery to the Philippines during MY 2022/2023.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today hosted a high-level Food Security Dialogue with the Philippines Department of Agriculture that showcased critical bilateral efforts to address global food security and climate change.
With research and development funds provided by the FAS Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops Program, FAS and ARS are working to produce compostable PLU labels. They are collaborating with the International Fresh Produce Association and Sinclair Systems International to meet the EU standards. The goal is to develop adhesives that are both food-safe and compostable. When achieved, this will allow American companies to export fruits and vegetables as usual while helping to decrease food waste and methane emissions.
The American agricultural sector posted its best export year ever in 2022 with international sales of U.S. farm and food products reaching $196 billion.
