Germany has 83 million of the world’s wealthiest consumers and is by far the biggest market in the European Union. The German market offers good opportunities for U.S. exporters of consumer-oriented agricultural products. In 2016, U.S. exports of agricultural products to Germany reached USD 2.3 billion. Largest segments were soybeans, tree nuts, Alaskan pollock, wine, beef, dried fruits, food preparations, sauces and other consumer- oriented products.
