Abraham Inouye joined USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service Foreign Service Officer corps in 2013 as a direct applicant. From 2016 to 2020, Abraham served as an Agricultural Attaché in the Beijing Office of Agricultural Affairs, where he played a key role in the (re)opening of the China market for U.S. beef and reported on the African Swine Fever outbreak. While in Beijing, Abraham enjoyed cycling and camping with his three daughters. Since returning to Washington, D.C., Abraham is actively working to increase U.S. exports of halal and kosher products as a member of the Processed Products Division. Prior to joining the Foreign Agricultural Service, Abraham was a food lawyer, specializing in food safety and policy. He graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with degrees in Political Science and Chinese. He received his law degree from Brigham Young University Law School and is a member of the California Bar. He received his Master of Law degree in Food and Agricultural Policy from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
