Agency Foreign/International Travel
Coordinator (ATC) – All USDA
agencies, except for FAS have
individuals assigned to
coordinate passport and visa
requests with the FAS
International Travel Section
(ITS). Travelers from these
agencies do not interface
directly with ITS.
Courier
– ITS Staff members who
transport visa and passport
cases from the Department of
Agriculture to the appropriate
embassy or the Department of
State for processing.
Customer
– A customer can be one of the
following:
DS-11, DS-82 – Department of State Documents
required for requesting new or
renewal official or diplomatic
passports.
DS-4085
– Department of State Document
that must be filled out to
request additional pages in an
official government passport.
FAS Travel Arranger – Most FAS program areas
have individuals assigned as
Travel Arrangers for a number of
employees. These individuals
interface with ITS instead of
the travelers.
FAS Traveler – Travelers within FAS who do not
have an assigned Travel Arranger
handle their own travel and
interface directly with ITS.

- International Travel Section.
Rush Status – When number of days needed to fulfill the
travel request exceeds the
number of days prior to the traveler’s departure date.
Safe File
– The location where passports
are kept safe in a locked room
inside of combination locked
file drawers in the ITS office.
Travel Authorization (TA) – A hardcopy document
with the traveler’s trip
details, itinerary and trip
purpose listed for approved and
signature by their supervisory
official.
